The GSMA Leadership Summit is an exclusive, invitation-only event
taking place on the afternoon of Monday, 25 February 2013 at Fira Gran
Via, the new home of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The Leadership Summit is a unique event where CEOs and government
ministers from around the world gather to discuss industry priorities
with their peers in a private setting. We expect that this year’s event
will bring together approximately 500 attendees, including CEOs and
board members from mobile operators and vendors and ministers and senior
government representatives from around the world.
Under the theme of “Mobile: Creating New Value”, this year’s
Leadership Summit will explore the critical economic, investment and
innovation issues facing the mobile industry and will offer perspectives
on how mobile can create a Connected Economy that delivers greater
value for consumers, businesses, governments and for players across the
mobile ecosystem.
The Leadership Summit programme will feature a series of
thought-provoking keynote speeches, as well as a dynamic, interactive
panel session focusing on “New Opportunities for Innovation”.

Panel Discussion - New Opportunities for Innovation
Against the backdrop of the continued global economic downturn, the
world’s mobile operators face greater challenges than ever before. As the
number of mobile connections worldwide continues to steadily climb and mobile
network traffic explodes, how are operators dealing with new burdens on
network infrastructure and the implications for established business models?
In a rapidly evolving market filled with traditional and non-traditional
competitors, how can operators ensure their central role in the mobile value
chain? Is it possible for operators to gain an innovation edge in today’s
Internet-speed world? This wide-ranging session will address these pressing
topics, among many others.
